Trouble "make-up"ers............

This is what happens when 2 years olds find your make up drawer and decide they need to make themselves beautiful and look just like mommy!!!

Lovin' Gymastics

Earlier I posted about Brooke's dance class. It is part dance, part gymastics. She likes the dance especially when they do their little routine but she LOVES the gymastics part. They get to go out on the big open circut (the bigger part of the gym) and the teacher sets up a little routine for them. Her and daddy are awesome. They do all the parts, yesterday they did cartwheels, somersaults, walked the balance beam, swung from the rings, jumped on the trampoline, crawled through tunnels, and got to ride a big swing that takes you across the gym. It is so fun to watch Brooke enjoy this little afternoon activity so much!!

All the little details.............so cute!!!

The definition of friendship says this: a cooperative and supportive relationship between two people; a relationship that involves mutual respect, knowledge, and the rendering of service during a crisis; engaging in a helping behavior, such as a exchange of advice or support during hardship; everlasting support, loyalty, and trust
I can not express how lucky I am to have so many wonderful women that fit that definition of friendship in my life. These women are from all walks of life-some are family, friends from childhood, college friends, and friends that have come later in life. Each and everyone of these friends truly means the world to me. They are each special in their own way. I am lucky enough to get to have these women in my children's lives.
On Saturday, six of these women hosted a baby shower in honor our new little girl that is arriving soon. It was beautiful and every last detail was covered.........They hosted a lunch at Whitney Oaks and 20 of my friends were there to share in our day. It was so great to see my girlfriends and they spoiled us rotten. I got double strollers, room decorations, diapers, bath accessories, blankets, adorable outfits, etc. I am READY!!!!
Thanks to all the hosts for their hard work and to everyone for their generosity and support. I love you all and can't wait for you to meet our baby girl!!!!!!

Kati (due about 6 weeks after me), Kristi, and Sara

Jen and Shelby

I am so fortunate to work in a wonderful environment and feel so blessed to have met so many wonderful friends through my work (whether we teach together or I have had their child in my class). These are my friends-day in day out we talk, share stories, ask for advice, and offer support. Today they showered me with love. Amy hosted a beautiful "book" shower. She had the place decorated so cute and had lots of yummy food. Each person brought a book (or a few) to share with our Baby Girl. We got a wide variety of books-all so wonderful and will be greatly enjoyed by our family. I feel so lucky today -thank you to all of the wonderful women of Heritage Oak. I am so excited to share this little girls life with all of you!

First Hair Cut

Getting Started

Getting my sparkles

The final product!!! Cool train set too!!!

Brooke's hair has gotten so long and it was time for her first hair cut to get rid of the dead ends and even it out. I took her to this really cute kids salon called Jack and Jilly Beans. It is very cute! The kids get to pick a car to get their hair cut in, the little girls get to pick a bow, and choose sparkles to spray into their hair. They also get a lollipop as a going away gift. Since it was her first hair cut they gave us her lockets of hair and certificate. Brooke LOVED it. She chose the firetruck and enjoyed gazing in the mirror as she was getting a cut and blow dry! She picked a purple flower clip and greatly enjoyed her lollipop! She smiled the whole time and when they sprayed the sparkles in she told the hairdresser she looked just like a princess! It was such a fun first!!!!

The second half of the class took us into a gymastics lesson. Brooke was able to practice her balance on a balance beam, jump on a trampoline, do somersaults, crawling throuh tunnels. Brooke loved it!!!!

Practicing my somersaults

Little Monkeys

With the new baby coming I really wanted Brooke to have an activity that was all about her and made her feel special. I also liked the idea of her following directions from another person/teacher. So I decided to sign her up for Tiny Tot Ballet at our local gym, Flip To It. The first half of the class introduces the basic ballet techniques and vocabulary and the second half of the class is gymastics based. We were lucky enough that Brooke's friend Rylee signed up for the class too, that made it double the fun! They looked so cute, although Danielle and I had to laugh at their big ole' undies sticking out of their leotards-too cute! Brooke did so well. She followed all the directions and practiced all the moves that the teacher showed her. She loved the tumbling portion of the class too! It was a really great experience and I am looking forward to her upcoming classes and some type of performance in March. Brooke talked about the "dancing class" the whole way home. She kept saying "I have to listen to my teacher! I pointed my toes and I walked on my tiptoes. "
I will be sure to update new pictures as the classes go on!
